Not a recipe, more of a request, but this community seems pretty inactive so maybe this can jump start it!|
I have 1/2lb of green beans and a block of extra firm tofu. Any suggestions as to what to do with them? Thank you!
Broil the Tofu.
Cook the green beans as normal in boiling water then dropped in ice water.
Saute some walnuts in oil.
Mix in the green beans and tofu, mix till warm.

assamese green beans
Press the tofu and cut up into 1" cubes.
Saute the green beans in mustard oil (best), ghee or another oil of choice. Add a pinch or two of turmeric (to taste) and a pinch of salt. Add the tofu and continue to stir fry until tofu is lightly browned.
Add a small amount of water to the pan, and then cover. Let simmer for three to five minutes. Remove cover and continue to simmer until excess water is gone and you're left with a bit of a sauce.
Serve alone or with rice.
You can also add garlic to this if you want, but I like the simplicity of the green beans with the turmeric. You can also add a pinch of salt if needed. I don't usually put tofu in this dish but it'll be a good addition.
